Terms and Conditions

Standard Terms & Conditions for Vehicle Service and/or Repair for Discount Tyre and Auto Services These Terms & Conditions do not effect your statutory rights.


  • 1. These Terms & Conditions are intended to contain all the terms of the agreement between ourselves Discount Tyre and Autoservices and you (the Customer) in relation to the vehicle repair, servicing and/or other work described on your quotation or invoice. If you wish to rely on any further amendment or addition that you require, you should ensure it is confirmed in writing by one of our duly authorised representatives.
  • 2. If we discover and/or agree any variation from the initial Agreement in terms of the work required or Goods to be supplied, this shall be put in writing on your quotation or invoice and shall be deemed to be an amendment to the original Terms & Conditions rather than constituting a new Agreement. All work carried out that is extra to the initial quotation, can be confirmed verbally with the customer by a telephone conversation with full cost of repair being agreed. Once the customer has verbally authorised and agreed to the extra work, Discount will interpret this as a legally binding contract with the customer.
  • 3. You agree that you are either the owner of the vehicle or that you are duly authorised by the owner to enter into this agreement for the work to be done on the vehicle and you agree to have the work done as per these terms.
  • 4. The vehicle health check refers to a visual inspection of the vehicle by a Technician. All visible items such as the tyre condition, exterior lights, fluid levels, body & paint check etc. are duly inspected as part of the process.
  • 5. You agree that the vehicle you are leaving into us in a serviceable condition. A vehicle that is not presented to us, fit for the service or part will result in the one of the vehicle be called to collect the vehicle as all work will stop. E.g. no oil in the engine, DIY jobs or wires exposed under the dash.
  • 6. The owners and promoters of this site will attempt to provide accurate information but give no guarantees and accept no liability for the accuracy of information provided, nor for the contents of any advertisements, nor for any claims or assertions or omissions in advertisements or any other content on this site.
  • 7. You accept that in proceeding to use this site, you have read and you accept the above terms, conditions and disclaimers. You further accept that any and all consequences of your use of this site are your own responsibility and that you will not seek to take action of any nature against this site or any persons associated with it.
  • 8. If discounts apply to a product or service, the discounts applies to the suggested retail price of that part or service. We cannot offer an additional discounts on the same product or service, i.e. a double discount.,. The discount/s apply only when the employee/student presents the offer before prices are obtained from our company, and does not apply if one is trying to claim the discount after the part or service is provided.


  • 1. Our quotation is based upon the estimated cost of repair; servicing and or other work supplied and is valid for 30 days from the date of issue to you.
  • 2. Any estimate is based on the standard or published price for the repair, servicing or other work involved at the time of the estimate. However, depending on the age/mileage of the vehicle, certain model derivatives may require additional service work or parts fitted. And if the manufacturer or other supplier of the products changes the published price after the date of the estimate, we will notify you of any consequent increase in the estimated price.
  • 3. If the information required to produce a quotation is given without having had access to the vehicle (i.e. by telephone), we reserve the right to revise the quotation in the light of more accurate information and any corresponding adjustment to the work and/or parts required.
  • 4.Your annual service is carried out as per the manufacturer’s service guidelines, including a multi-point vehicle inspection.


  • 1. We will use our best efforts to do work within any time estimate that we have given you; we will not be held liable for any consequential delays that are beyond or outside our control.
  • 2. You have the right to cancel at any time. We will charge you only for repair, servicing or other work completed and parts actually supplied or fitted and a reasonable amount for any work actually done.
  • 3. We shall be entitled to sub-contract all or any part of the work and will be responsible for the quality of the sub-contractors’ work.
  • 4. We will notify you with the contact number you supplied, when the work is complete and the vehicle is ready for collection and (unless you have a credit account with us, in which case you must comply with the terms agreed in relation to the operation of such account) you will be required to pay for the repair, servicing or other work upon collection of the vehicle.
  • 5. All payments must be made in cash or by an Irish credit/debit card only, using chip and pin. 6. We are entitled to retain the vehicle until you have paid in full for the repair, servicing and/or other work undertaken and completed.
  • 7. If you fail to pay the full amount due and to collect the vehicle within 3 days of being notified that the work is complete, we may charge you for the storage of that vehicle commencing from the end of the 3 day period – you will be given prior notification of any charges.
  • 8. If the vehicle has not been collected within 1 month of being notified that the work has been completed and the vehicle is ready for collection, we may (after giving you 7 days notice of our intention to do so if you have not paid the full amount due and collected the vehicle before such notice expires) sell the vehicle and deduct the amount owing to us (including statutory interest, storage charges and the costs of sale) and pay the balance to you.
  • 9. We will retain all parts replaced during any work done, except for any to be returned under warranty or service exchange arrangements, until the vehicle is collected, and will be free to dispose of them in accordance with the statutory waste disposal regulations if you do not specifically ask for them when collecting the vehicle.
  • 10. Our Top brand names parts are of OEM quality with parts warranty covering all scheduled maintenance items for twelve months, or up to their next due scheduled replacement, whichever comes first.
  • 11. The offer of a free car wash consists of an exterior wash of the vehicle either by hand, power wash or by a conventional water brush system. It does not it include interior cleaning of the vehicle.
  • 12. The mechanical prices are inclusive of VAT @ 13.5%, and special offers cannot be used in conjunction with any other service or parts offer.
  • 13. The suggested service price is restricted to 4 cylinder petrol (normally aspirated) and both 4 cylinder diesel (turbo-charged or normally aspirated) engines. Exotic, high performance vehicles ie Audi RS, BMW M or AMG etc models, commercial vehicles and motor homes are excluded. Please consult with a Service Advisor for a quote on vehicles that fall outside of the terms and conditions of this offer.
  • 14. We reserves the right to make amendments to the content of the suggested service prices, and any other services and special offers at any time.


    • 1. We will carry out all work with due and reasonable care and skill, and warrant that such work will remain free of defects in workmanship for a period of 12 months or 12,000 miles / 15,000 kilometers, whichever occurs sooner, from the date the work is completed and under normal driving conditions. Excludes psv, taxi, fleet and commercial vehicles.
    • 2. In the event of any claim or concern regarding the service received you should firstly contact Keith Darcy on 01-8119027.
    • 3. Our warranty is additional to your statutory rights and is not affected by any change of ownership of the vehicle.
    • 4. You must observe the instructions for use, cautionary notices and other technical notices and information we supply you with the repair, servicing and/or other work, ie you may need a timing belt replacement and you fail to have the job done, resulting in engine damage. Failure to do so may nullify any warranty given.
    • 5. Except where you are acting as a consumer, and except for fraud or for death or for personal injury resulting from our own negligence, we limit our liability for any breach of this agreement to the amount you have paid for the work and/or goods provided and expressly exclude all liability for loss of profit, goodwill or contracts and for any indirect, consequential or economic loss.
    • 6. You should remove any items of value from the vehicle that are not fixed to the vehicle as we will not accept any liability for loss or damage to these whilst on our premises.
    • 7. We may use information provided by you and/or concerning your vehicle now and in the future: 1. to provide you with information on products and services for marketing purposes; and/or 2. for market research; and/or 3. to track sales data.


    • 1. Should you decide for whatever reason to terminate the agreement (cancellation), then you will not be liable for any charges, unless there have been costs incurred on your behalf. Possible scenarios include: 1. A special order or non returnable item that you have requested us to order or acquire 2. The cost of re-assembling the vehicle should it be part way through a job that you have authorised 3. A service which we subcontract and which incurs us costs if you fail to give us reasonable notice of your intention to cancel.
    • You will be required to pay for all parts and labour used up to the point of termination, however you will not be liable for our loss of revenue or profit should you terminate the agreement.
